Music can evoke an emotional response in the human body that can result in everything from goosebumps to a flood of cathartic tears. And in the modern age, sound frequency healing can be achieved through a variety of methods, from listening to recordings of different binaural frequencies to participating in vibrational-acoustic therapies.Įven though humans have been studying the connection between healing sound frequencies and the operation of the human body since the times of Pythagoras, modern scientists are just as fascinated by the effects that different frequencies can have on the mind and body.Īside from healing sound frequencies, frequencies also affect the body through music. The Solfeggio frequencies have been associated since ancient times with the creation of sacred music (including meditation music) thought to promote healing.Įven as far back as ancient Greece, healing and music have been linked together to both theology and medicine in the form of Apollo. The drumming vibrations that accompany shamanistic trance work speak to the power of harnessing sound frequencies to induce altered mind states. Likewise, holistic healers have recognized that different frequencies of sound have the ability to manipulate the human consciousness and even induced an altered consciousness, as can be seen by the trance states induced by shamanic chanting and drum work. It has been shown by scientific study that even inaudible high-frequency sounds can have an effect on human brain activity. For hundreds of years, scientists have been conscious of the effect of sound on the human body.

To continue, mineral pigments are not a perfect choice for a safe foundation either. As such, I advise to just stay away from them altogether. However, when the FDA does so, it takes into account input from industry, too, and so its standards often differ from the limits recommended by persons and organizations that are truly looking out for consumers. That is to say, per each colorant, the FDA sets what it considers to be acceptable limits of the contaminants. I do not recommend makeup products with petroleum-based pigments or dyes because they can contain petroleum contaminants. And lastly, 100 Percent Pure started disclosing that some of their makeup products include mineral pigments as well as plant colorants. 100 Percent Pure would not give me satisfying answers about possible heavy metal contamination. Thus, when pigments are created from plants, heavy metals may become concentrated. Secondly, because our planet is polluted, the FDA tells us those plants may contain trace amounts of heavy metals that they absorb from the soil, water, and air. But I am very skeptical of them for a few reasons.įirstly, the FDA does not approve these pigments for use in cosmetics. In other words, in liquid foundations, titanium dioxane is safe to use because it does not become airborne and inhaled. To clarify, the International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified titanium dioxide nanoparticles as possibly carcinogenic to humans through inhalation ( source). The main reason for that is that you might have heard that titanium dioxide is a carcinogen. I know some of you are looking for a foundation without titanium dioxide. Even if a foundation is not toxic, it still does not belong in our lungs. Firstly, liquid foundation is safer because when powdered foundation gets airborne, we can inhale various chemicals. Each 6-ounce glass is designed to show off the color and the aroma of the spirit.
